Miracles
You are looking at survivors!
Here are a couple of children helped by Children's Miracle Network at Inland Northwest hospitals.
-
Jacob, age 5
Through all of his treatments Jacob has remained strong with a good attitude. He knows it’s important to take his medicine and follow the treatment plan. His willingness and compliance makes his family grateful and proud.
-
Kaley, age 10
It happened so fast. Flu-like symptoms, then rash-like spots were all the warning they had. The survival rate for the deadly illness that attacked Kaley Dugger’s body is a mere one percent. Though she was diagnosed quickly, bacterial meningitis was already wreaking havoc underneath her skin. Her condition worsened with every passing minute. When the disease was halted, Kaley’s battle had just begun.
-
Kiera, age 6
Kiera has waged an amazing battle. She was diagnosed with Diffuse Venous Malformation, which is caused by an excess of malformed veins, which contain no muscle. There is no cure for her condition and she receives aquatic therapy up to five times per week at St. Luke's Rehabilitation Institute to relieve her pain. She has undergone many surgeries to temporarily alleviate her pain at Boston’s Children’s Hospital where they inject alcohol into her veins. She will continue to receive this treatment annually and sometime bi-annually.
